Does the sound of waves crashing onto a white-powder-sand-beach interest you? Maybe you prefer history and would rather travel down cobblestone streets while gawking at historic buildings. Perhaps somewhere in the tropical rainforest is your cup of tea. No matter what your idea of paradise is, I am sure, many of you can relate to my list of dream vacations.

My wife and I have had the privilege to travel to a few exotic locales, mainly in the Caribbean, but there are a number of places aside from there that I cannot wait to travel to. I wanted to highlight a few places we’ve loved, in case any of you are looking for a beautiful spot of your own, as well as, a top 10 of dream spots.

Montego Bay, Jamaica: My wife and I honeymooned at the Sandal’s resort in Montego Bay. We absolutely loved it. The beach, the people, the resort was everything we could ask for. My favorite part of the resort was the fact that the staff got you involved in so many activities (volleyball, sailing, wind-surfing, snorkeling.) We never took any outside excursions there, because of all that was offered at the resort, but heard nothing but great things.

Paradise Island, Bahamas: This was an impromptu vacation for us, only because my wife won the trip to Atlantis via a radio station, talk about a stroke of good luck. So far Paradise Island and Atlantis has been my favorite trip to the Caribbean. There is so much to do at the resort (Movie theatre, waterpark, aquarium, and casino) just to name a few. The scuba diving and snorkeling excursions you can take off the resort are unbelievable. My wife and I got to snorkel off the island while over forty black tip sharks circled just beneath us.

Cozumel, Mexico: In my opinion Cozumel has the best reef system I have personally seen. An amazing underwater adventure. If you get the chance to dive or snorkel off this great island, take advantage. If you are able to take the ferry across to the Yucatan I highly recommend doing so. There are so many things you are able to do on the Quintana Rio side.

We’ve also been able to travel to the: Dominican Republic, Florida Keys, and Puerto Rico. All excellent places, but just not as memorable as the ones I’ve highlighted above.

Now for where we want to go:

  1. Scotland
  2. Jordan (Petra)
  3. South Africa
  4. England
  5. Spain
  6. Hawaii
  7. New Zealand
  8. Belize
  9. Costa Rica
  10. Ireland

Feel free to comment on places you’ve enjoyed. I’d be interested in hearing about your own adventures.
